I opened the crate from Can Am and I have not seen this type of ammo before.

Looks steel jacketed. Black primer and 68 manufacture. Shot fine but I was curious if this is steel jacket ammo and is it supposed to be armour piercing or were they just trying to save a few bucks on copper?

and the best that I can do for headstamp.

I started a thread on this a little while back.

Turns out it's just another way the czechs tried making ammo in order to save a few bucks. Zinc coated or washed or something like that.

CanAm mentioned the czechs had four? different combos of ammo.

My wife and I found it to be less accurate ammo in comparison to the rest we had with us that day.
Our take on it was that these cartridges almost felt undercharged slightly.

Some say it is the same, but the proof was in the pudding with the bullets impacting 30-40 meters short of the 200 yard target, while the other SKS ammo we had was nailing the 200 yard steel ram every time.

Also as mentioned in the old post we found it to have a very strong ammonia smell, very similar to the Norinco (norstinko) ammo that we have tried.
