Nice finish for a Norc.

The trigger is very light. It is fine "as is", but I'll likely be sending her to Gunnar next week for good measure.

This is 100% stock except for the grips and hex grip screws from Brownells.

Hopefully I will get to shoot her this weekend :dancingbanana:

I have the same model, they keep getting better every time. Mine was also tuned by Armco and I am now customizing it, not because it needs it, just to learn stuff. Now if Norinco would just clone Novak sights I would be happy.

You polished it, huh? I keep saying that all they really need (finish wise) is a good cleaning and polishing with Flitz and the finish is great! The latest generation of these pistols is much nicer than the "No Norcs" want you to believe. Love the grips too!

I just ordered mine also! Hope its as good as it looks. How the "Tightness" of the slide and frame? You mentioned light trigger, do you know how many Lbs?

I am quite excited! (I am the guinny pig for this Norc, with friends in the wings all waiting lol)

Actually, the rubber grips were very nice. Functional yes; pretty..... no.

Let me get a few shots in before I judge this thing. But for a $400 pistol, I am happy.

I picked up a new Norc compact [commander] last year from a local dealer here. I gave it a complete detail strip to get out the factory gunk & grease. Reassembled it with an aluminum adjustable trigger I had in the parts box and installed a set of double diamond hardwoods with hex head grip screws. Other than that she's all stock. Great trigger pull as is.

Anyway, if yours shoots like mine you will be pleasantly surprized. It digests everything I have fed it. But it seems to like factory Fiocchi 230 gr JHP's the best. Even the two gritty feeling factory mags work great.

I am pleased with these "new" Norcs.

I'm a die hard 1911 fan. Been owning/collecting/shooting various makes & models for ~ 25 years or so. Big time Colt fan. And think the higher end models available from Wilson, Kimber, STI and the like are top notch, too.
But don't fence sit on these entry level Norc 1911's.... the ones coming out in production now are very nice indeed. If I was just starting out in the 1911 game right now, I'd probably opt for one of each, full size and commander lenght Norc 1911.

Hey!
I finally found my shacking wallet , under the bed, the darn thing tried to bite me, but I WIN, and ordered a Brand new Norc 1911C from frontier...

Noe it is waiting time, I will be happy to see the postman.

Anyone looking for a torn apart wallet??

My Norc Commander from Frontier showed up last week and I was also pleasantly surprised by the finish. Changed out the factory rubber grips for some double diamond wood grips, fasten them on with some hex head stainless screws and the gun went from looking good to looking great. I also have an extended stainless mag release but haven't gotten around to installing it yet. Hoping to get out to the range soon with it (still waiting for my LTATT).
As mentioned earlier it's one nice gun for under $400.

I just got mine this week. I am suprised by the look of it. Everything from the fit and finish looks way better than the last generation of 1911 commanders.
Some of the edges are quite sharp though. Ive ripped off pieces of skin from the side safties and the cocking grooves and the slide. They are almost sharp as knives. Other than that this thing feels as solid as a rock.
BTW I've noticed that the grip safety seems a little loose and rattles a bit. I was wondering if it was the same with all the new commanders or if its just mine. Probably should have a gunsmith take a look at it.
