Came across what appears to be two Inglis Hig Power magazines. The only problem is they are only marked with the "JI" on the base plate. My reference source (Law's book) if you read between the line kind of hints that some Inglis magazines might not have the "JI" on the magazine body. Any thought on this. A side by side comparison of these magazines and a "fully" marked Inglis magazine reveals not obvious differents except for the lack of the "JI" on the magazine body.

What you probaly see is a badly stamped " II " which is on all canadian HP mags

No, what he sees is "JI" (John Inglis)
For what its worth, I've also got mags that are identified only on the baseplate and not the body. They look just like any of the fully stamped mags in every way.
I believe them to be proper Inglis mags (just maybe not as desirable as a collectable)

Dsiwy is a weapons tech currently employed in the military. I know him.

AFAIK ALL Inglis mags are marked on the body, and unmarked ones are foreign.

Fair enough, but what is the "II" stamp all about?
I don't see that on any of my (12 or more) magazines

I have a number of Inglis mags and all but 1 are marked JI. The other one looks like II but if you look close enough you can see the start of the curve of the J.

Poorly stamped.

Fair enough I always though it was II But I never looked that close.

The mark may be on all John Inglis magazines, but the Cdn Forces weapons LCMM has been buying thousands of FN produced magazines over the last few years. So many of the Canadian Forces magazines will not be JI marked.

Not trying to be a wiseass, but just wanted to point this out so none of the CQs start crying foul when mags are turned in without the JI mark.

I have yet to see a Cdn made magazine without some trace of the JI mark on it.

According to Law in his book on the Inglis High Power "An identifying John Inlis "JI" logo can usually be found stamped on the front of the magazine body, reading either up or down." I take this to mean my two magazines marked only on the base plate with the "JI" are correct.
