On my way to Hell in a handbasket
I've been shopping for one for a while...........more as a novelty.

I know of two suppliers, Loyalist & Military Heritage. Anyone know if either offers a decent shootable repro, or is there a better source?

Loyalist looks nice, but I'm not crazy about the brass barrel.

Any suggestions/info appreciated.

I bought a mil heritage one 2 yrs ago...The lock was messed, I had to send it to Loyalist to be rebuilt, mil heritage gives ZERO customer service/ support, You cannot miss with loyalist they stock parts and are generally awesome folk.

I have also heard alot of good things about middlesex village trading they also stock parts and do repairs.

A friend of mine has one of their french muskets and its really nice and shoots VERY well.

All that said now my blunderbess shoots good, Its a great camp gun and easy to clean due to the barell length.
Though its frizzen wears out quick...In comparison my loyalist long lands frizzen makes enough spark to shoot after being rained on all day, and has had nearly a thousand shots on it and still going strong.

I am sending the frizzen to Loyalist to be rehardened before I go on holidays

I ended-up buying one from Loyalist (LAR), and thanks to Canada Post it arrived with the hammer bent. LAR is, of course, fixing the lock for no charge.
After I had it for a couple of weeks, LAR announced a sale on Blunderbusses ($100 rebate). Despite the fact I bought mine after the sale was announced, they are giving me the credit. Good customer service.......I'll be buying from them again.

I frikkin love shooting the blunderbess, Easy to load, easy to clean, And with practice youll be able to keep a pie plate group at 25- 30 yards.

Hell , sights are for the uninspired.

I look foward to your report, I like the Loyalist blunderbess, and brass barells were used alot back in the 16-1800s, Perfectly safe, and tell you the truth..Beautiful.

Looks great!
Just a bit too perfect"immaculate"....After a couple of years of use, she will really get a personality.

"A small note, dont load and or prime directly from the horn after your first shot , all it takes is one ember still hot to ignite the charge while your poring and your basicly holding a grenade the horn being just full of powder and all"
