I went, I bought, I conquered. I know its not pistol related, but I got my 76. Thanks John, you guys got real good pricing on that, especially since lots of places down in the US are charging more!

Congrats, and I agree on the pricing. Now if you guys get some in 50-95 in (and the repairs to my septic don't cost me my right nut) I'll be calling you :D

I ain't worried about speed - just like the idea of having a 50 caliber hole at the end of the barrel. :D
Although the 45-60 would be a hell of a lot easier to load for, and components for the 45-75 are getting easier to find. Something about a 50 cal lever though :D

I hear ya, I was just making fun of the fact its an 'express' cartridge. I am more of a laggard myself. :D

I agree though, a big ol' 50 cal would be fuuuun

The next challenge is getting the brass and dies for the 45-75. IF you got any hints, they would be most welcome!

I may be wrong, but I think Lee added 45-75 to its die listings. You should check out Paco Kelly's Leverguns, or Shooting with Hobie (his blog - goes about loading for his Chaparral NWMP carbine) for loading info. I believe you can trim and form 50 Alaskan brass, or 50-70 brass (although sometimes the rims have to be thinned - depends on the gun).

Thanks KK. I am not the most advanced reloader yet unfortunately, if I can't manage dies and brass easily, I may not get much shooting in with the new member of the family. :(
