This arrived today, it's a 21H in 8x57.

It's all original and has seen very little use, the bluing hasn't even worn off the rear bolt lug. I doubt it was ever hunted with.

The finish is a little dry in places and there are a few little marks in the stock and bluing but they are all minor.

This is the perfect carry rifle, so tiny and light it is almost like a .22.

It sure is pretty. :)

Richard, you are nineteen and you have a '50's era Brno Model 21 in almost new condition.....what more have you got to live for ?

I almost feel sorry for you....no I don't, MARVELOUS FIND !

Thanks guys. :)

I'm buying cool stuff while I still have money for toys and very few bills to pay.

Plus, I wouldn't mind a collection like this.

If you think you feel good now, try to imagine how you will feel when your grandson/daughter take his or her first deer with that very rifle.
That is a lifetime investment in good memories....and not a penny wasted.

Jeebus! Double set triggers too!

What a beauty!

You're only 19? Why you little...

7.92x57mm is a great caliber. You can probably work up some 196 of 198 gr. hunting loads that should be great for big game.

Question, are you in PG? Your name suggests the Nechako River to me...

No, I'm not from that area I just really like it. I'm in the Fraser Valley.

I'm really looking forward to trying it out and playing with different loads, it fits in nicely with the 7x57 and 9.3x62 too.

Brno

Wow, that does look new. Lovely rifle, I recently picked up a 21 also, but in 7X57 and with single trigger. Added CZ rings and a compact Leupold 4 power scope. Same fellow has a 21 in 8X57 I'm thinking of getting. I had a full stocked 7X57 21 that I sold before you were born and always regretted it.
Again, lovely rifle you have there.

Okay I have to ask.....Keep in mind that I'm a complete rookie when it comes to rifles and such so maybe this is a stupid question.

What is the reason for the double triggers?

Beautiful looking rifle BTW.

Thanks,

Dave

I have the same gun in 7X57 nice shooter.Poked a 165 class WT buck with mine a couple years back......................Harold

LondonDave, the double set trigger allows you to touch off the first one to allow the second one to become a very light hair trigger for those long shots from a rested position. Otherwise, if you just touch the second trigger first(without touching the first one) it reacts like a normal trigger.

That is one beauty of a rifle! Where did you buy it from?

So the first trigger doesn't actually fire the shop but acts as a pre-trigger, for lack of a better word, that makes the second one require less force to fire the shot? Otherwise you would just use the second trigger. Sort of a 2 stage trigger system?

Is that correct?

Thanks for the info

Dave

Dave, the rear trigger will not fire the rifle but you need hands like a gorilla to set the front trigger off without setting it, and to get the full benefit out of the system one needs to replace the spring with a sheaved spring......and the only way you are going to do that is to make one yourself.

Savage-man, we did try to tell you.

Harold, we would enjoy a couple of pictures of your rifle, as it is always nice to see another.
James.
