Remington 700 mods?

Im looking for a Rifle that doubles for hunting and target shooting. I would like the caliber to be a .308 as i am already reloading it. I cant seem to find much info on the caliber of the VSSF II :confused:

Or if there are any suggestion... Is there even a 700 with HS pressision stock in 308?

also a detachable mag would be nice.

I'd go with the SPS tactical in 308.
You can add the mag conversion and other cool toys later.

I wouldn't go with the 5R.....For the money I think you are better off setting back the barrel and rechambering and re-crowning an SPS.

Spend the money you save on a good scope, bullets, and reloading gear.
 
I'd go for an LTR, if you're gonna be packing it any distance

I have a rifle similar to an LTR, this is my 260 that doubles as a deer rifle/target gun

Yeah just found the SPS tactical a couple hours ago. The price and reviews diffenitly looks good also wieghs in at 7 1/2 pounds stock bonus for lugging around for a day or two.

Now for some idea's for a detachable mag mod. What brand/models have a good reputation for quality and reputation?

I've read, and desire, the badger ordance DM conversion for the Rem700.

Yeah it almost weighs 10 lb with out scope though, might get a little heavy after a while.

The best i cant gather off CGN for the DM is the HS Precission mod. I dont know if that takes M14/AIA mags or what but it sounds like it from what i gather.
