I agree that it is more than silly.

If I was to hazard a guess at that inclusion it would be due to the event being fully endorsed by the CSSA, it is to ensure that all competitors cannot be fubared by the law. (I would hope this is the only reason and this is only a guess).

I can see it as a CYA clause, but that would be about it.

I hope it's a big juicy raspberry at least. :D

Nope, it is probably Dave being Dave. I have had a few conversations with Mr. Burke regarding CDP and the direction it is going in, including a long chat with him at the CSSA AGM. I believe Dave has control and delegation issues.

I have heard a peep that it is a Sharon requirement. However, I cannot substantiate that. Can anyone else?

I think you are right, maybe it is Dave just covering all angles. Then again, if you travel to another club without a valid ATT and a restricted firearm, that is your problem if you get caught. I would personally have not even opened that can of worms. If you are at a hosting club shooting a regulation match and show up with no ATT but a pistol, there is no way the club can be held liable or the league if they did not know you transported a restricted without a valid ATT.

I don't need to be babysat/policed by anyone..
'Looks like even some people/clubs don't even trust those in the shooting community to follow the law... What's next... 'Gonna ask to see my drivers licence to be sure I was allowed to drive my car to the match..?
Have fun guys... I'll play elswhere.

Well someone better get their facts chedked.

As far as I know (and hope) it is not a CSSA issue.

I have heard it is a Sharon Issue......

If it is a CDP issue...........well then things will not go well for them.

Make sure you bring your drivers license if you drive to the club cbabes , and proof of car insurance. you might also have to swipe your health card in case you hurt yourself.

I hope most people are insulted by having to show their ATT and don't come so I can win the competition and take the prize money! :sniper:

I left a message with Burke to get back to me. He is OOT until tomorrow. I'll find out the what and why if at all possible. I hope it is just a senior moment by Burke. (Mind you you are supposed to have your ATT anyways....)

Well i can see why CDP is going no where fast if you have people running things this way:rolleyes: showing your att  i will not be there if this is true and if CSSA is backing it ill be thinking about staying a member there

Wow. The first official match hasn't even been done and you are already slagging the CDP for it's progress?

While I agree the ATT thing is a really dumb thing to include, I won't pass judgement until after I see how the match is run. If the first official match is run like crap then I'd accept that statement.

tell me how long has CDP matches been going on and it has taken this long to get an official match . do you think maybe its because one person is running the show

Put aside some of the minor issues, like the ATT thing, a very small thing, and some of the feelings of the people at the top again a very minor thing and it is a great sport to shoot. For those of you who have shot with me over the last 2 years, I am certain you have all had a good time and we have had some pretty cool course of fires. All shooting sports have had issues, IPSC is a perfect example of major BS at the top, but you know what, the shooters that really want to shoot, over look it and just have fun.
