Has anyone ever had problems buying from Brownells?

I bought a number of things from Brownells yesterday, including a bottle TW25B grease. Today, I got an e-mail saying that my order shipped, but that "due to shipping regulations" they were unable to ship TW25B and it was deleted from my order. Anyone ever run into this kind of problem with Brownells? What kind of "shipping regulations" would prevent them from shipping a lubricant?

P.S. Anyone know of a Canadian source for TW25B?

Did you buy the spray bottle, or syringe? I/m wondering if they consider the bottle an explosive?

I bought a bottle. It's a squeeze bottle, not a spray bottle (TW25B is a grease). I also bought a bottle of Militec-1, which they had no problems shipping.
 
A lot of lubricants, any aerosol spray etc etc can only be shipped by truck -and the cost across the border is prohibitive so they don't do it.

You can buy gun parts over $100 ( not sure about the kx3 though - may be on a military export ban list) but you need to get an import permit, may need to fill out an enduser certificate, etc or you can get Questar to handle the paperwork for you...
 
I purchase from Brownell's on a fairly regular basis and have had several items removed from orders. As was mentioned in earlier replies, sometimes it is a ship by truck problem, or a military item that doesn't meet export requirements or sometimes just one of those unexplained things which leave you scratching your head. Usually though Brownell's is one of the few US suppliers that I have had very little trouble with. I expect things to tighten up even more in the future though. As an FYI as a related item, Numrich gun parts has a new company policy (apr/08) that they will not ship any parts for restricted firearms outside the US. That includes screws and springs for handguns. I expect more companies are going to get tired of the customs paperwork and hassle of sending to Canada.

Ordered $63 worth of parts, an edge extractor, picatinny rail and recoil buffer for a 10/22.
Shipping: $18
Insurance: $24
Border charge: $9.
Grand total: $114 for $63. But I got exactly what I wanted. I would gladly do business again. The insurance thing was just a surprise kick in the pants.
 
Brownells are very good and ship what they can to Canada. I should add they are also a sponsor for our BC IDPA Provincial Championship coming up in July.

$24 insurance is retarded. Usually it is INCLUDED in the shipping method, no? And I have never had any charges while coming across the border, however all my packages from Brownells and another place have been opened by Canada customs.
 
On my latest order from Brownells, all I needed was a spring for $1.49, and there really wasn't anything else I needed at the time.

I've ordered lots of things from them before, maybe that made a difference. But they charged nothing for shipping that little spring that I desperately needed.

I was very, very pleased.

I wasn't super impressed with the charges, but I am very happy with the service and the products. They got me the parts I wanted and couldn't get anywhere else for probably the cheapest.
