Does anyone know a Cnd Distributor for Predator Actions, made by Stiller Precision Firearms?

Im looking for a Predator Long Action to use for 7mm WSM.

Thanks In advance.
Mike

Ian Robertson, Robertson Composite Stocks.

You might want to try Alberta Tactical Rifle in Calgary, he may have some Nesika actions laying around, possibly a BAT as well.

Good Luck

Blackcloud,
Thank you very much for your help, will contact..
Im building a long range huntign rig.. Wanted to go with a Predator action as the tolerances arent so tight and action wont lock up in Field.. Not sure what other route to go with a custom action.

For a LR hunting rifle, there are MANY superbly shooting rifles made from tweaked Rem 700's. The reg blueprinting is usually adequate to get a Rem to shoot sub MOA way out there - plus a quality barrel of course. Having the rear of the bolt bushed at lock up solves one of its major problems.

This way you can get mag fed actions for reasonable costs.

Personally, I have been using many Stevens and Savage actions to great effect. Yet to do any work to the action except install a quality pipe and they have all shot superbly at very very long distances.

My personal LR hunting rig is a factory Savage in 7RM and it has not issue shooting well under MOA at extended distances.

The new center feed mag system really works well and the action is long enough to house monster boomers (Savage has offered RUM's and Lazz monsters before).

longrangehunting.com will have PLENTY of info on rigs and options. Or you can follow the links in my sig line to read articles on the subject on that site.

If a custom action has lots of 'slop' to ensure function in the field, it looses much of the benefits of said technology and machining. Most tuned commercial actions will shoot just as well as a field grade custom. 1/2 min or so is the norm no matter the action.

For what you would spend to buy an action, do the accurizing, adding an aftermarket bolt knob, ect...ect... you're going be in it for as much, if not more than what a Predator or TAC 30 action will cost you.

Fluted bolt, Sako style extractor, and a higher quality of finish are just a few of the advantages that Stiller actions have going for them.

On the other hand, I've got a couple of accurized 700's and if the work is well done you'll be completely happy with it for a field rifle.

If you already had an action available that would suit your needs I'd be tempted to use that and save some money on the build. If starting from scratch, the Predator would be a great choice.

I'm in the precess of building a 6.5x47 Lapua on my TAC 30. Gaillard heavy varmint barrel, and a fully adjustable McMillan A5 stock in GAP camo. Should shoot as good as it'll look with any luck.

Mystic and 2bad4u

Msystic & 2bad4u,

We are fortunate to have a great smith out here. Henry Rempel. Besides being a master machinist and silhouette champion, he also does a lot of work on a lot of winning guns, Silhouette, Benchrest and F Class.

I had Henry build me a .300wm based on a trued/blued rem 200 with a 8 twist Maclelland barrel that will shoot 1 MOA or - at really extended ranges off a bipod yet..

I also have an F-Class 6mm -Dasher, built by Herny thats as competitive as any other rig when shooting our F class , it will shoot well under 1 MOA providing I do my part and read wind..
P.S. - I typically get beat by the wind..

Im selling the Dasher to partially fund this.. Its a great gun, but I like guns that I can hunt with, and that dont weigh 18 lbs..

I love hunting, target shooting is a means to make me better at what I love doing.

I bought a Krieger barrel 8.5 twist to shoot 180gr Berger VLD's, and have always wanted a custom action (Single Shot) that wouldnt lock up in the field.
6mmbr.com, guns of the week, and the 2 guys shooting 7mm WSM's (Rick and Vic's) articles really got me going...

Appreciate all of your help and direction!!
Mike

Considering he's asking $400 over what Robertson is, I'd say he's a tad optomistic

LMAO...I saw the same ad and couldn't believe the price!... The Predator is slightly cheaper than the TAC 30 I bought and I didn't pay even close to that considering all taxes and shipping fees.

Sounds like he's trying to capitalize on the wait time issue by being Johnny on the spot for someone who is desparate or simply doesn't know better.
