Sorry I am a bit late to respond. I was traveling yesterday and just downloaded my email.
For the record, it is not the policy of CSSA to check any paperwork of match competitors other than their current CSSA membership card and, if necessary, holster qualification. It is assumed that if they are a CSSA member, they are fully aware of the laws and it is their responsibility to comply.
In relation to the current discussion on the CDP match, I have spoken to David Burke on the issue. Dave's only purpose was to protect the association and to ensure all legalities were followed due to the great scrutiny the sport is undergoing at this time with the current toxic political atmosphere. Dave has agreed to rescind the ATT inspection requirement in place of a current CSSA membership card and proof of holster certification (Black Badge, CDP, PPC).
I trust this will defuse the current debate and we can concentrate on moving forward and defending our sport and rights against those that would like us to disappear entirely.
Please let me know if anyone has any questions.
Thank you.
