cane shot gun 410 cal ?????

my buds trying to buy an antique cane shot gun, made in england, around 1880.its made by cogswell and harrison. any ideas as to how much he should pay?? i'm hoping it falls into the antique class.

I just had a quick perusal of firearms regs and couldn't find any reference to cane guns specifically. I'd be curious to find out what their legal status was.

Yup. They are prohibited from what I hear.

Did a quick look in the FRT. There is a 410 cane gun listed (as an Unknown British) - it's non-restricted. A 410 shotgun doesn't qualify as an antique regardless of its age - it's on the "no list".

Yup. If it was 32 gauge or 24 gauge ( and was old enough) it'd be antique.

When I lived in the UK I had one of these, it was just classed as a shotgun and still is as far as Know. I was also encourage by the local police to fit a sound moderator to my hunting rife, to avoid public concern about noise. It all goes to show each country has it own strange rules made up by gray men/women in suits.

I wish we had that rule here; I fear many newbie officers would wet their pants at the sight of a suppressor.
