Hey it's that time of the month again. For all of you who attended last month thanks for coming. I know from the emails we received all of you had a great time at the match in May. This month's match is being held on Saturday 28th June, a week later than we usually schedule, because many of the organizers are shooting in the 3 day BCRA Tactical Rifle Match at Volkes in Chilliwack.
Like last month, the match will be shot over five stages – each stage is configured differently. Competitors will shoot each stage six times with their best five times for each stage going towards their aggregate time for the overall match. Each stage consists of a series of white plates and one black plate. Against the clock, competitors engage the white plates first and then the black stop plate. To avoid penalty points the white plates have to be hit before the black stop plate can be engaged. The distances to targets will vary from 10-50 yards, with sizes varying from 6” 8” 12” round and 18x24” rectangular steel plates.
Bring as many magazines or speed loaders as possible. Remember this event is all about speed and accuracy, there is no power factor requirement, so bring your lightest loads. Note: NO magnums allowed. The round count for the match is 150, but depending on your skill level you should budget to bring between 250 and 350 rounds per gun. If you're shooting 22 just bring a brick.
The match fee is $15, and is open to non members (there is no additional drop in fee for non members). Competitors who want to shoot 2 guns pay an extra $15, a 3rd gun is free.
This month we have added a pistol caliber carbine class, so 10/22s are welcome along with any center-fire pistol caliber carbines.
Mission Speed Steel classes include -
1. Stock 22 pistol/revolver
2. Open 22 pistol/revolver
3. Stock center fire pistol
4. Open center fire pistol
5. Stock revolver
6. Open revolver
7. Single action cowboy
8. Pistol caliber carbine class - NEW
We will be running a morning and afternoon squad so that we can get as many people through the 5 stages as possible.
Match start times: 1st squad - 9:00am, with a match briefing at 8:30am. 2nd squad - 1:00pm, with a match briefing at 12:30pm.
If you are interested in shooting this match email speedsteel at(@) shaw.ca as soon as possible to book your slot.
