Hi all,
Just a short introduction, as I often prefer to lurk on sites rather than post, but if I have something of value to add, I will definitely speak up.
I currently live in Durham Region, just outside of Toronto. I received my non-restricted and restricted PAL last fall, after taking courses from the York Region Firearms academy in Richmond Hill. If anyone is looking for courses, I would recommend this place wholeheartedly, as Richard and his team really drill things into you, and talk about current issues straight up.
I am planning on taking a trip this fall for some moose (got my calf tag) with some friends that have a camp up north, but am still looking for a rifle.
Hunting aside, I am also interested in some of the pistol sports, such as cowboy, but have never been to an event to see it in action. I believe that improving my marksmanship with a pistol will help in my hunting endeavors.
I've grown up around guns all my life (my father was a police officer and marksman, and he drilled firearms safety into my head) but other than some silhouette courses and small game hunting with a .22, I have relatively little experience. I am looking forward to learning more as I enjoy the sport, and am looking towards this site as helpful information and education.
