Update page 3,My 10/22 trigger is HORRIBLE... I need suggestions for improving it...

Hey Guys, THANKS for all the input!

I went with Hawktech, they had the hammer and sear in stock for $49.95 shipped to Canada...

Also, I almost pulled pin on the transaction when the payment window came up and it was (FRAUD ALERT)!!! I F**KING HATE (FRAUD ALERT)!!! Anti gun mother f**kers!!! Anyhow, I went ONE more step and there was an option to use my cc and avoid signing into (FRAUD ALERT) and paying via (FRAUD ALERT). Their BULLSH1T % on the USD exchange was 2.6%... So, I "used" (FRAUD ALERT) to charge the $ through my cc, ha ha ha, (FRAUD ALERT) even had a "warning" that they couldn't guarentee the exchange rate IF I went that route... F**K them, even if it's more, which it won't be cause it's TODAY's exchange rate with MC... Anyhow, that's my rant for the night!!!

I hope the hammer and sear get me a nice 2.5 lb trigger!!!

Cheers
Jay

Here's the question I've always wanted to ask: When you replace the trigger and sear with these aftermarket ones, is there no trigger take up? What I mean is, does the trigger fire once you take up all of the zero resistance creep and then apply 2.5 pounds of force?

The reason I'm trying to purchase a kid trigger is because I believe what I wrote above to be true and I'm not entirely comfortable with a trigger being that light without it having to pass through a resistive first stage. Truth be told, I'd really prefer a Savage accutrigger on my 10/22 because although it's a single stage trigger, it has that added safety on the trigger. I dunno - maybe I'm just being a nervous nanny.

Good luck with the trigger surgery and let us know how it turns out!

Hey CanFire, someone with more knowledge will have to jump in here to address your questions, but, the parts I bought are; (I don't see where is says it removes all the trigger take up?)

PC 10/22 Hammer and Sear Pack. Drop in kit that produces a 2 ¾ LBS. Trigger pull. These are the highest quality parts on the market. EDM produced. Includes an Extra Power Hammer Spring, Extra Power Disconnector Spring, Replacement Trigger Return Spring, 2 Hammer Shims, & 2 Trigger Shims.

Cheers

P.S. I will report back when the parts arrive so you guys know how much of an improvement they made!

Well, THAT was fun... NOT!!! All those little pieces were a pita!!! Ha ha ha, but... My trigger pull is much improved, but I seriously doubt that it is the advertised 2.5 lbs... And it does still have some noticable creep... Maybe the last thing I will do is the mod to remove creep??? Friggen 10/22's, they are addictive once you start messing with 'em!!!

Cheers
Jay
P.S. took me about 60 mins to get er done, but I cleaned all the little parts and took my time...:runaway:

Do it a few times and it gets easier :D:D

I know I was happy with the VQ drop in hammer and VQ extractor I put in.

It will do until I can afford to get a Kidd trigger :)

I use a regular polishing wheel that came with my dremel when I bought it, then use this very good metal polish they sell at crappy tire called blue magic, works great
