M700 oversized recoil lug

I am sourcing components for a rebarrel job on my Sendero 300 RUM. I am looking to get a 28"-30" heavy contour barrel. What are the benefits of, and is an oversized recoil lug (badger ?) a necessary upgrade ?

If you are rebarreling I suggest you have the action worked over a bit (thread lug recesses, face, bolt lugs) and I like to use Holland lugs as they are not excessively thick and are the same diameter as the action and look real good.
