Want to get a 22LR semi...

I've got a Voere 2115. Gets a lot of interest at the range and it's scary accurate. Came in second this week (using iron sights) in our 'Sunday Fun shoot'. I've only met one other person that had one, and they both had the same defect. The bolt handle will suddenly break off after 30 years or so during rapid fire.

Never heard of the handle breaking off before, are you sure the screw was tight before this happened ? Did you know that if you give the handle a clockwise twist it locks the bolt so the rifle can be shot as a single fire ?

Yes, I know. Yes, I'm sure.

Of the two Voere 2115s my gunsmith has worked on, it's both been for the same problem. Bang-bang-bang. "What the hell just went over my shoulder?"

Edited to add:
I should mention it's very difficult to make a firearm without last round hold open safe after the bolt handle snaps off. It was quite comical.

Looked at the Ruger 10/22 International Stainless again today... I just like the look of it.

Handled the Browning T-Bolt Sporter as well... not bad, but I'd rather the Target-Varmint model with the heavy barrel.

Tomorrow, I will be looking at a Voere and a TC again, before I go to the Ancaster Gun show to see if there is anything good there... I would like to see a CZ 511 or Brno 611 in person...

(I will keep in mind the Voere's problem, but it seems that the concensus is that it is a good 22)

Great .22 (I'm packing it up now to go to the fun shoot), as I said it's very accurate, no functional issues (although mine won't fire CCI ammo, firing pin doesn't hit the rim of the case deep enough). I don't think metal fatigue after 30 or 40 years on an easily replaced part is a major issue.

Well I bought a Brno 581... really like it. But I have been offered a Voere Mod55 22LR now. I am told it is in very good shape, and he wants $400... From this board and the gun shows, they seem to range from $150 (low end poorer state) to $400 for excellent shape. Any comments?

Congratulations, I thought we had another drone. Dare to be different.

BRNO's are known to be good shooters. If you want to accessorize, try an AR :D lots of accecories...
