m 305 Re-loading

I had a look at mysticplayers website, I was however looking for "pet" loads and had hoped that there would be some posted... Did I just miss them???

I'm using a load of winchester brass from my last crate of Whitebox stuff.

I've also found a lot of 150 Nickel-Plated cases Federal cases in the brassbox ay my range. It seems that nickel plated doesn't like being reloaded for semi-auto (FL sizing)
 
Instead of starting an new post, I picked up some .308 brass from a fellow cgn member some of it was commercial... other is military crimp, and or held in with looks like glue or sealant.

How do I deprime this brass, that is mill crimp they seem to have 2 little holes at either end of the primer area on the bottom of the case.
 
Lee makes a decapping die which is robust enough to knock out these primers.

After removal, you need to get a flash hole reamer to get rid of the crimp. I use a Lyman hand tool. Everyone makes something to do this task.

A few twists and the primer pockets are good as new. Just watch load amounts in true milspec brass. Case volume is about 10% less then commercial so you need to start low and work up.

I broke my lee classic hand loader depriming rod and the lee die I had...

There is no hole in the center of the primer pocket on any of these. I only got 58 out of 200 that where mil spec. Is it worth the bother?

Am I reading this right? No flashhole in the centre of the primer pocket?

If you look into the case mouth do you see two smaller holes? This is Berdan primed and you may as well scrap it.
 
OK...sorry to hear that you have beat up some equipment.
Every once in a while you see some military brass available. When you do find any at a good price get 1000 rounds minimum.

You can full length resize as per normal as long as you have Boxer primed brass with the single, larger flash hole concentric with the primer pocket.

Once the primer is out you will have to swage the primer pocket to remove the crimp. RCBS, Dillon and others make a tool for this.

When this is done youwill have good long-lived brass.
 
I had some IVI brass in there too it seams to be a mil spec but its deprimed fine...

I know about the dillion swage 600 its not worth it for 58 cases... if anyone wants the 58 cases and can deal with the mil spec then i will just ship them to you or else garbage.
 
I have been useing the same 1500 .223 in my bolt and ar-15's for the last 8 years only had to recently disguard some because of split necks.
 
I was told the SA milsurp stuff I have (Berdan primed) is scrap brass. I have a little bit of commercial .308 that I will give away when I get a decent amount.
