I took it out today and it functioned 100% with 115 grain roundnose. Very finicky with Silvertips and STX but not bad with federal Classic HP's.
It's okay since I have 1000 rounds of the ball ammo.:D
No groups to show since I'm learning how to shoot with my wrong hand.

I just got this in. I can't believe it sat in the EE for so long. It's 9mm so I'm expecting finicky, but I'm determined to make it work. This is the only decent pic I can take tonight.
Got it like this, Hogue grips, FLGR, curved MS housing

Added Ed Brown flat MS housing, regular plug/rod and Colt grips.

I talked back and forth on that one for a while but just didn't get around to it. Price I think was reasonable and I hope you get lots of enjoyment from it.

Nice pistola.

The arched mainspring housing was correct for it. Guess you already know that.

Flat or arched seems to be a personal preference when adding after market parts.

Glad you ditched the hideous Hogues, though.... ;) :D

Nice 9mm. Colt 9mm 1911's are rare these days. I picked up a blued commander in 9mm a few weeks back (series 80 also)- I changed a bunch of stuff to aftermarket but it's a Colt pistol and you can't beat the savings of 9mm vs. 45 these days. Here's a pic of mine:

It would be interesting to check the S/N of that Commander since Pat sold his a while back...what are the odds I wonder? :) Given the number of times I've gotten the SAME shipping carton back from different deals here on CGN, I think all we basically do is "rent" our guns temporarily from the same gigantic CGN stock!:)

Mine was not a series 80, but I've seen it sold already on the EE. Sometimes I have to resist the urge to buy guns back at a higher price than I sold them for.:D
Westicle's looks like the one with the Aftec extractor, which I may have to get one of.

yes it is and so far ejection is good but I do have to tune the extractor because it sometimes throws them right back in your face.

but working on magazine issues right now, got to order me some wolffe springs.
