So come on and make it with these 3 mods, it would be perfect IMO.

one) 3.5'-4' longer extending over the top of the handguard.
two) high enough so a aimpoint, T-1 micro or eotech clears the top of the front sight shroud without any extra mounts.
three) a hollowed out center of the rail so you could still use the diopter sights (best dam standard sight of any rifle imo)

If NOT, then I would still pick a TAR-21 or HK-Sl8 or AR Variant over the Swiss.

That's just because you don't know any better. Don't worry, soon, scientists will have pills to cure that.
 
I'm still waitng for somebody to make a bolt action rifle that runs on 30 round magazines identical in dimention and size to the swiss arms mags, but marked for that bolt action....
 
With the Railed fore-end and the Rail adapter on top... Pretty much a $4000 restricted Rifle. And people ##### about the HK MR 223 being $4K.
It's nice.

But having to dish out lots of extra $$$$ just to make it work.... I don't get it.

It works great with the sights it comes with,and 225 will get you a rail.

If you've got a hard-on for the MR233 than by all means...buy that.

2800+225 does not equal 4000$. Not to mention there are non-restricted variants, something there will never be of the MR223. Plus, you don't have to feel dirty for supporting SA like you would if you bought an HK. HK sucks. Why do all HK firearms, for some reason, look like they were meant to fight wars in space rather than here on Earth?

The family is now complete with the large/medium/small covered, now all we need is the 7.62 x 51 version to come in. As for the carbine with the 14.3 barrel the point ability has been increased twofold, the balance is the best of all the SWISS ARMS family and I say to those who are holding out - run to your nearest dealer to pick up one of the finest carbines on the market.

Also one HUGE advantage that the Swiss arms lineup has is being able to fold the buttstock up and still fire.

Totally agree on the ballance its just feels perfect, somehow to me it feels lighter than the CQB.

I feel really dirty when I take my Restricted to the range and fold the stock....
I get such a huge advantage firing from the line...:runaway:

Actually you said 4 grand just to make it work, not 4 grand including accesories and rails to hang 10 pounds of crap from. So...3 grand to make it work.

As for the folding stock, not everyone sticks to the bench.

Come by the store tomorrow for a touch and feel session of the carbine, and if you can leave the store without buying one, you are a better man then most. Gadget hit the nail right on the head when he said the balance was superb and it does feel strangely lighter than the CQB carbine. If you have some time to pass drop by the store and try one for size, I guarantee you will not be disappointed at all:dancingbanana:.

The railed forearm is "necessary for the rifle to function", how???

If you price out both MR223 and any of the SA rifles with the same features, the SA is still MUCH cheaper. Nothing you say will change that.
 
While I'm a big believer of fair prices for product, and think guns as a whole are overpriced in Canada (and have done my fair share of b!tching about it too...), it is extremely unlikely prices will ever see a correction in the way we would like to see it go. Looking at the current situation with importation and distribution, I'd say we won't be seeing many more of this same model.
Just my guess, but don't pass on these with eyes on future shipments.....
