It all started while i was looking for a new sport 22 rimfire pistol.
A friend of mine had a browning buckmark target i was going to buy but
unfortunatly it fell through to another buyer. Feeling sort of silly i guess the
seller offered me a Hammerli International American for the same price. BTW the browning was a deal in itself.

So I got this Hammerli model 207 instead. with two mags, weights, palm shelf. Its in good condition some slide wear and marks from use. Wen i dissasebled it there was no serious wear at all and all the contact parts had a beautiful mirrored finnish.
Its a real gem ive never had a pistol of such fine quality. Built like a tank..!

Ive taken it to the range only twice i just got it and am just as blown away by its preformance. The built in compensator and large slide virtually eliminate muzzle flip which makes for a very straight firing pistol. Accuracy at 10m one handed was about 3-4 inches. Two handed would give me groups of .5inches.
Had a couple FTF's but i attribute that to the cheap winchester ammo i use. I get em all the time with my 10/22.

Ive been looking around online for info or people that have these are there any owners out there who can give me some views, tips?

Hammerli 207

You`re correct it is an excellent pistol. I have had one for approximately 30 years, identical to yours. After a few years some friends purchased the model 208, no compensator. I liked them and sent mine back to Switzerland to the factory and had the compensator removed. The cost was very little and I like the shorter barrel. Did you get a model 207 manual with it? Shoot only target velocity and it will last forever, maybe.
Nice purchase

I think you got the better end of the deal... a 207 for the price of a buckmark is a bit like a porshe for the price of a ford.

As far as I know, the only difference betweem the 207 and the 208 is the finish... and the 208 as pretty much reached cult status as far 22lr pistol goes.

Like Jaydee said, stick with standard velocity ammunition!

Safe shooting,
Mike.

That gun is worth 2X+ what a buckmark is ,
only down side is don't ever lose a mag.
Parts are horrible price, At 10m that gun should
shoot 10's
Do not use winch. crap ammo in it.
If you want to stay cheap , Fed bk. pack is not
to bad in mine, I use Fed gold match, I can't see good
as I use to , so no point in better ammo.

when i shot rapid fire in competition we were told to NEVER dry fire rimfire
iirc the firing pin will hit the chamber rim and over time mushroom/break

Walther had a dry fire attachment that you could use in the OSP/GSP series of pistols...

Dry firing is one of the steps in field stripping my rimfire (Ruger MKIII).

There's a big difference between doing one dry fire when you strip down the gun for cleaning... and doing dry fire pratice for an evening!

By the way, the dry fire trigger for the GSP was design for the rapid fire event practice... so that you could get the five consecutive click going tru the motion...

If you ever need new grips, they are available from Hungary for $100, I need to order a new set for the GF since she has pretty small hands.
