What is the most tactical/ coolest non-restricted shotgun I can have?

This shotgun is pretty much perfect. (Not mine)

Nice and clean Rem 870. IMHO all that bolt on crap is pointless for a shotgun.

There's nothing "tactical" about showing up at a match with $800 worth of crap bolted to your gun then having your ass handed to you by an 70 year old man shooting a 25 year old plane jane 870 with a bead sight. :)

Hey I've seen that guys bolt-less tactical shotgun before....I made this to show it off. :D

man what is up with your posts ? you obviously dont have your PAL so stop asking what you can get cause you cant get anything.. when you do get your PAL then u can ask away and get reasonable answers...btw the ultimate tacticool shotgun is my coach gun :p

In all fairness I knew more (and wanted to learn more) about tacticool black guns when I was south of 17. Those were the pre BS c68 etc laws and I got to shoot and fondle a TON of exotic steel and plastic alike...JUST AN AWESOME TIME...EVERYTIME. #### I used to be up and hour before I was supposed to on Sunday a.m. to go to the club with my Dad...To excited to sleep.

Guns are fun bottom line so if this dude is into learning and we get a responsible RPAL owner in the near future it's all good. That being said there has been alot of fishing expeditions conducted in this pond of late so it's fair to be sceptical.

Proceed with caution

Not an issue. Nor is asking questions about guns you can't own. We don't make anybody show their 12.6 licence to post a question about a prohib, do we?

I agree with pitdogboy that there's plenty of trolls and caution is not unwarranted, but give the guy a break. He's interested, he asks questions, what's so bad about that.

We go on and on about sheeple who get paranoid at the mere sight of a gun, then we kick a guy's can just for asking?:slap:

a simple "I'm turning 18 next month and have my safety courses completed already so I can send in my application" would help ease my skeptisim a little :)

LOL! :)

The mob mentality that has been going on here on CGN for a while is beginning to get to me.
Now, more than ever, we need new shooters to take up the sport.
Yet when a newb drops in to ask about stuff, the older members seem to enjoy jumping on the guys head.
I don't think the guy is a secret agent out to bust us, just a kid that is dreaming far beyond what he can acquire right now. (and probably well beyond his bank account, too.:))
Can we all lighten up a bit, and let the guy build his wish-list?

Agreed 100%
Hell, I've asked more eyebrow raising questions than that and I had my PAL and RPAL at that time. There was a bunch of things that I wasn't informed about during the course that I now know today. I still have questions but, some guys are just getting way too harsh.
If that had happened to me when I was poking around trying to find out what is the limit of our laws yet still be able to have something fun and practical, I might have been turned off by this forum long ago. Tell the guy/kid what we can acquire and let him grow from there on, just like I did.
Call me what ever you want, but the right information goes a long way.
Not to mention that the antis already know what is out there and that they can twist and turn things anyway.
Just my .02

the thing is he knows he can't have the stuff but he's asking anyway. That whats get me. Most of his post are "What can I buy" the simple truth is he can't buy anything. And he has not explained himself fully, as it seems by his posts he wants them yesterday.

I don't want to jump all over him either, but I think he could ease a lot of the questions about his intention by better explaining himself. I want knew shooters in the sport same as everyone else but he is coming off the wrong way. Something about his other posts, not just this one make my eyebrows raise. Others have pointed it out to him and he has thus far ignored them. Which to me raises even more flags. Maybe I am way off but it smells to me.

He asked a question, and the answer is he cannot legally own anything at all.

No mob mentality...he needs to word the question different in order to be a valid post...

Maybe something along the lines of..."Please post pics of Short Tactical Shotguns, I'm getting my PAL soon and want to make a list of things I am interested in legally purchasing, using and storing"

What can you guys tell me about this ###y piece of 870? I love the look of it, clean and simple. I would like to know what model of 870, bbl length, the finish(s), what those sling mounts are, what mag cap is that, anything info at all about this piece.

After seeing this photo, I thinks I want to build one for myself :)

Cheers,

Derek

Here's the thread I stole the pic from:

This is the guys desc:
I got the mag cap from DS Tactical.

It started life out as an 870 Express before I added:

Police trigger group
Vang Safety and stainless mag follower
Extra Power Mag spring
Non-MIM Extractor
Wilson front sling mount.
GG&G rear sling loop
Matte OD Gunkote

It still has the express wood which I will be upgrading to a walnut stock and forend soon.

I'm not sure the min barrel length in the U.S. 14", 16"???
