870 Sight Question

I have the Scattergun ghost rings on my 870. Will one of the 'slip on' scope mounts (slides over the reciever and is held on by the trigger group pin) still fit on if I want to throw my Eotech on it?

If it doesn't fit I don't see why you couldn't just remove the part of the rail that is touching the rear sight.

You may find those sights are too low to see through your optic, so temporarily removing the rear sight may be your best option.

I just want to be able to throw the Eotech on in the simplest way possible for perhaps a match then take it back off when I'm done.

I doubt I'd be able to use the irons with it on but I don't care.

the rear sight is only held on with 2 screws, only take a second to remove it to fit your optics..... but frankly I know you have the know how and tools to do a little modification on the scope rail so just modify it, probably take 15 minutes.

A picatinny rail can be attached permanently onto the receiver (drilling and tapping). the Ghost Ring sights will look over the picatinny rail. The optic should come very close to zero every time.

Yes , i think you'll find a picatinny rail or even a regular mounting rail that is drilled and tapped and screwed on to the reciever will give you better results than a saddle type mount that fits over the reciever. I've seen a few of these come loose, maybe not every time but it does happen.
