Tomahawk

I handled one at the Vankleek Hill gun show, and they don't feel like they've got much to them. They are EXTREMELY light, which might be good, but to me it feels like it's cheaply made...

I like the look of them, but I think I'll wait on some long-term range reports before buying one.

Where are they made?

You simply cannot satisfy everyone....
If we had used steel receivers you would complain they are too heavy....
We used an aluminum version, now it is too light....

Do you really think that given our warranty policy we would introduce something that is untried, untested an unproven ??

Oh well I guess that with your expertise only a few moments of handling allowed you to arrive at your conclusions....

AUBIE;
Turkish Sport Arms is not a manufacturer, they are a marketing arm.

I wish people would do their "homework"
John

Berlinkauf might be the manufacturer, but It doesnt really concern me now. All in all its true what John is saying. Aluminum is lighter and used often in firearms. Seriously I bet these are kick ass shotguns. With todays technology Its not so hard to beleive a quality shotgun can be produced cheaply. Hell Baikal has been doin it for a long time. Its just the fear of getting a failure to feed a couple of times and then you loose trust in her. Hate to have a jam when a Gizzly sets his sights on you!

If light weight equaled bad Glock would've been outta the picture a couple decades ago!

I love my 870 Griz and I'd bet these shotguns are even better

SIMONSEZ:
"your right but Glock is not based in a third world country ...."

And when was the last time you spent time in Turkey ?
Of course you have visited the factories over there ?
You have examined the latest hi tec equipment they use ?

Yes it's certainly third world thats why Stoeger, Benelli, Armalite, Smith & Wesson, just to mention a few, are getting work done there....

Turkey has some of the most up to date CNC machines in the world... in QUANTITY. you would be very impressed with Turkey's modern manufacturing houses. i wouldn't be worried about quality.

Easy does it, Tiger.

Excuse me? Don't tell me what I would and would not say about a steel receiver. I have a Norinco HP9 from you and I am very happy with every aspect about it, including the weight.

Next time, when speaking to potential (or in my case EXISTING) customers, why not say something more polite. Something like this would have conveyed the message without the big "#### YOU" overtone:
Some people have disliked the heaviness of steel receivers in the past, so we figured we'd try an aluminum receiver this time to see how our customers feel about it.

No, and I didn't suggest otherwise. All I said is that because of the weight (it _IS_ a 12-gauge after all) I am concerned about handling and that I wanted to wait for a range report or two before spending my hard-earned dollars on one. Thanks for asking, though.

Oh well I guess that with your expertise only a few moments of handling allowed you to arrive at your conclusions....

When you wrote this, you must have been in a pissy mood about something other than my casual comments. OTHERWISE I don't understand your basis for being so sarcastic and condescending.

I didn't claim nor suggest that I was an expert on Tomahawk shotguns, or even that I was well-acquainted with them. All I said was that they felt too light and my opinion was that such a light shotgun might be cheaply made.

I'm sure YOU HAVE HANDLED these firearms many times...we haven't. You KNOW what they are like, we don't. All we have to go on is what other nutz post here in range reports, and word of mouth.

Forgive me for not blindly buying products without researching my concerns before hand. Caveat emptor, right?

This comment wasn't directed towards me, but I do for a fact know that Turkey has top notch production capabilities. So does China, Canada, and the USA. Just because they have the ability does not mean that they apply it.

Johnone,

My suggestion to you is that next time you think someone is criticizing you personally, or Marstar, take a step back to think where they might be coming from. I've never claimed that Marstar is out to cheat anyone. In fact, if you look into my post history, you'll see that I've given Marstar and YOU SPECIFICALLY very strong recommendations, as well as held you and yours in very high personal opinion.

I understand the retail world, as I've spent a lot of time there. I know it's trying and frustrating sometimes to try and please everyone. Might I suggest you try approaching similar situations from a different angle next time? After all, we are the ones sending money your way.

And while we're on suggestions, I sent you an email inquiring on when certain models of firearms would become available again, and never received a reply. I'm not alone on this one.

Some of the firearms on your site have been "sold out" for as long as I can remember; maybe it's time to take them off the site. I know I'm not alone on this one, either.

Ok I accept your suggestions, I am typing this with a feather like touch, I want all to feel warm and fuzzy.

IF your e mail had been received, it would be replied, I say again, certain IPs do block Marstar because of the evil content of our site, no reply in 48 hrs, please resend.

I might note (softly) that we never ask anyone to blindly accept or purchase without knowing more, that is why we implemented our no BS warranty policy, we were the first in Canada and remain one of the very few with such a policy. We want YOU the customer to feel comfortable.

Delivery schedules and promises from suppliers dictate what remains and what is removed from the site, however when deliveries are delayed for one reason or another this throws off our schedule.... Otherwise our webmaster would spend his time removing and reposting rather than adding all the new "toys"

I hope you have read this is "soft mode"
Regards
John

Funny that you continue to patronize me, even though (looking at other posts about you and Marstar) many people feel the same way about your approach and attitude.

Good day.

Enough of the bit ching and complaining. My experiance with Marstar has been great and if you buy it and don't like it send it back. Except for 2 guns I bought used a show all of my purchaces have been made without ever touching the real thing and I've been fortunate that I've been happy with all of them. Welcome to Canada there is no try before you buy.

Now back to the Tomahawk; does anyone have one and is it compatable with 870 accesories? I like the tactical pump with the folder that's available. I think it's very sweet especially for under $400.
