M&p 45

It's been a few months since my last decent post, so here it goes.
My M&P 45.

On that last image you get an idea of how large XS Sights 'Big Dot' sights are!

How is the sight working out? Were they easy to install?
I'm impressed with the M&P but I still prefer the Glock models; just something blocky and Germanic about them that I like.

Really easy to install, just get your tools in place before hand. I also recommend watching the videos posted their (XS Sights) website. For me, it was a matter of being left-handed that decided the M&P 45 over the Glock.

My next handgun, I'm actually thinking of shooting nothing but M&P's.

I've heard rumors that it was Smith and Wessons contender in the Joint Combat Pistol program. If it was, it's going to be -damn- hard to break!

Really, that sucks...

I was thinking of getting a M&P9 but now I'm not sure. Maybe I should try one first before I write it off...

It's a striker-fired pistol, the trigger is crisp with very little take up, and a really short reset. It says its a 6 pound pull but it feels a lot less. I really recommend touching one off before you pass it by.

To get a proper idea, try to shoot one that has some rounds through it. The trigger gets much better with use. Also it's really only semi-DA, the striker is held partially back and gets pushed back a little further before releasing. It feels more like a 2 stage rifle trigger than a 'traditional' double action.
