first off...could someone please explain what exactly IPSC and IDPA shooting is?:)

and are .22 pistols allowed in either?

thanks :D

Bullseye / ISU; but they wouldn't be represented here in the "Action Shooting Games" Forum.

You local club may have something action oriented they do with 22s, but it wouldn't be a provincial, nationally or internationally organized.

There are some 'action .22" games but most of them are done with 10/22s to take advantage of the mag capacity.

That said.............from Hamilton you are right in the middle of a host of clubs that shoot IPSC. Why not get a nice cheap 9mm and start up.

Don't forget NRA Action Pistol, which is shot on a limited(for now) basis up here.
22RF is allowed for it.
Check out the Competitions Division of the NRA for more info.

Do you know where ,around the GTA ??:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

When I wrote the code for the Range target controls for the bullseye crew at EESA they had me include NRA Action pistol as one of the programs.

I do not know if they actualy use it or not.

We allow all shooters that show up to shoot what they brung.... we have one shooter shooting an old colt woodsman and does well.

we are shooting IDPA, so to make a blanket statement that IDPA does not allow it, should have been "sanctioned" IDPA matches do not allow .22's... club matches and practice nights you can and should shoot whatever gun you want :)

in IDPA all guns shoot against others in the same class... so we class .22's in thier own class.... then we also seperate out coversion kit guns and factory .22's.

whats issf?

NOST...

There is a host of information available on the net.

You'd be doing yourself a favour to actually do a bit of research before coming in here with such broad questions.

Do a bit of your own research and you'll be able to ask specific questions...

ok let me rephrase that, IDPA does not allow .22's .... defensive pistols of .355 caliber or bigger (9mm)

that being said on practic nights if all you have is a .22 then come on out and shoot with us... but ralize that a .22 creates bad habits that a full size pistol will make you eat... so yes bring a .22 a few times but you should look at getting at least a 9mm
