I received my first Leupold rifle scope today from Frontier Firearms. It's a VXII 4-12x40AO (fine duplex) mounted on a Sako Quad. My initial impression is that it is a very nice scope and I can't wait to try out the rifle and scope this weekend.:D

I hope you don't go through the same learning curve as me. I bought the exact same scope as you and after six months it was not enough power so that got traded on VX-II 6-18X. I liked it so I bought another in a dot reticle. They are just super.

The way I see it I'll still be shooting this gun in 20 years (if I live that long) so when I break down the price over a long term, it's not too much. If I decide to get rid of the rifle, I'll still have the scope for something else. I really like the warranty, so I went with the Leupold over something like a Bushnell.

I bought a 3x9x40 rifle man for my first one, nice scope but i do crave more power:D its for a 17hmr, the only reason I went low power was for fast sighting in the bush.
