I read on CanAm's thread about the Puma levers he has for sale. No one replied to my post so here I try it again. Anyone have experience deer hunting with these calibers?

454 Casull 20", blued -

I miss my Winchester 94 lever 30-30 that I use to use in the thick bush while doing a deer drive, I thought one of these might be a good replacement, but I have zero experience with these calibers. Any input would be appreciated.

Personally, I would go with the 44 mag or the 454 Casull for deer. A plus with the 454 Casull is you can shoot 45LC as well.

I'm kind of interested in a Puma too as a deer gun.
So the 454 Casull allows me to also use 45 LC ( a bonus for me as I have a 45 LC ) but does the 45 LC Puma allow me to use 454 Casull ?

I have the 45LC and love it. I have not hunted with it but hand loads will do the job. These actions are strong and will withstand alot of pressure. If I was to do it again I might go for the Casull, not sure.
