I saw the ad on the EE for Jumbo safety's from BadBoyBeeson. I've always wanted to try one of these, so I ordered one from him (great price by the way!). Anyway, installation was pretty straight forward - but I did have one issue. You take the trigger group out of the shotgun, and the pin behind the safety needs to be pushed out. A spring is held under that pin, which comes out - no problem. However, under that spring is a little ball. I never saw it, but I heard it fall out on my little counter when I removed the stock safety. Unfortunately for me, I found 2 different size balls. I think one or both were lead shot from a shotgun round, but the larger one fit perfect into the hole, saw I went with it. Pushed the new safety in, dropped the little ball in, put the spring in, held it down with a punch, then pushed the pin back in. Actually wasn't a big job at all. I really like the look, and it is much easier to get the safety off. It does change the way your finger sits on the trigger, but I actually like it. All told, a great product, a great price...and, it's from a Canadian company!!! Here's a pic (you can see I also have one of the sling plates as well...

Just installed two of BadBoyBeeson's jumbo safeties on my 870's. The installation was dirt simple and took maybe five minutes. They look exactly like they do in the pics and work great; they're impossible to miss.

So now my shotguns are no longer defiled by Remington's accursed J-lock!

FWIW I don't recommend these very large dome safeties, beit Vang or otherwise, be used on a hunting gun - too easy to knock off safe. I recommend the Wilson jumbo safety for hunting guns.

I guess to each their own. They have a distinct movement catch with the detent ball, I've never had one move by accident. If anything, I'm much more aware of the safety status. They are designed for a combat role though.

umm well i have been using one on a huning gun for years now, and i fine when its cold as hell and you have your gloves on you can,t find the safety.
I have allso been in a boat, they one of the crew was trying to get the saftey off, but his glove was to thick, that when he did manage to hit the safety button he was pushing to hard to reach it he clicked the safety then hit the trigger. BANG!
would not have happened with an oversized safety.

I've never had a problem releasing the standard safety with gloves on.

The large dome head safeties can, and have been, bumped off inadvertently. That's why I don't recommend them for hunting.
