Hey guys, I am going to be getting a PARA hi-cap soon and I was just wondering if any of you have had bad experiences with the SERPA line of holsters? I really want a SAFARILAND but am not sure. Any thoughts??

Hey, not to sure where you are but if you go Safariland i know there not shipping to canada as offten since ownership or something like that has changed. If you do though heres the number of a supplier still going strong in canada

R. NICHOLLS DISTRIBUTORS INC.
PH- 450.442.9215

I can't remember, i think i was Montreal or something like that and it took about a month and half for mine to come in.

What sort of holster and retention do you need?

I think Safarilands are top-notch and fantastic.

The BHI Serpa system is pretty fine as well. Very fast with practice. There is no use debating which is better. Both are great, depends on how operator adapts/trains and preference.

Do you need 'level 2' retention? Otherwise a simple tension holster like the non-serpa level 1 or BladeTech may serve you well.

If you are looking for fast/smooth draw...a tension holster with a cutout (ie BladeTech, non-Serpa level 1, etc) would be the way to go.

I have yet to try BHI's Serpa level 3 with the pseudo hood.

Thanks for the input. I was a little wary of the finger release on the SERPA. Also I was looking at something with at least level 2 retention.
