A brand new type of rimfire event .... introducing ACTION 22!

Reminder: upcoming July 6 event

Action 22 dates this year are:

July 6; Aug 3; Oct 19

We set up in the morning of the match and start at 1:00pm. Registration is from 12:30 to 1:00.

Fees are $20 and everyone is expected to help with clean up afterwards.

Matches are held at TMSA in Pitt Meadows B.C.

Would any one be interested in doing a action .22 at the Sportsmens Club Galt , I don't care about points or prizes, I just wana have some fun. The rifle range would be a good place to set that up, its outdoors, lots of room to move around.

Any suggestions or comments would be nice.

That said, LMK if I've missed anyone and I'll revise accordingly. Should I add you to the Ontario list, Cyclone?

I'm in for the Action 22 shoot this weekend. I'll be shooting my Rem 597, I just hope I have better luck with my mags this year.
Its definitely worth the trip up to Thompson mountain, its a relaxed atmosphere and don't forget - all steel targets plus 30rd mags = :D

Very good, who else is in? :)

A few of us are meeting for breakfast before trotting up the hill to set up for the shoot. PM me for details if you wish to join us.

The match begins at 1:00 pm ...

Thanks Dack9, you are now on the list ... anyone else?

Did anyone from the Island end-up going? I wanted to make it really bad but a 6mo baby will throw a huge wrench in the plans of an all-day shooting trip pretty quick. I will attempt (again) to make it to the next one.
Are 30rd mags going to be required to be competitive?
Cheers,
Grant

No Islanders showed up from what I understand ... maybe next time a few of you can carpool it and save a few dollars. Try sending a PM to pontcanna, Calum and JDrew who are all interested CGNers from Vanc. Island and could probably use an early heads up to get ready.

25 round mags are nice to have and offer a slight edge but as the number of targets on any stage has yet to exceed 15 I suspect that accurate shooting will level the playing field considerably.

SniperSean I've added you to the list on Vanc. Island. As it looks like there are nearly half dozen of you (plus friends!) perhaps its time for someone to take the bull by the horns and begin organizing an event.

If you are considering jumping in, please feel free to pm and ask questions, and I'll help however I can.

I wonder if anyone interested on the Island is involved with the Victoria Fish and Game IPSC shooting? They have got a VERY nice multi-use pistol and .22 range that would be perfect. I believe they also have some reactive targets but perhaps they would be too heavy?
Cheers,
Grant

Hopefully some of the Island CGNers will respond here ...

I would suggest you PM the members on the list and make contact with Victoria F&G to see if you can get the ball rolling. In a pinch, even IPSC steel can be used. They can be set to fall more easily and you'd be surprised at the power of the humble 22. It's also fun to hammer a pepper popper with repeated rounds, although striking it near the top with one shot is usually enough. I will also point out that 22s do no damage whatsoever to the steel.

I will even consider loaning some of my targets out to you if the builder of said targets approves, and I have an over supply of bowling pins ... LMK.
