Hi from Seoul Korea

HELLO, greetings from Sangbong, Seoul Korea.

Not really new to the shooting world but just wanted to say hello.

You can't own guns here in Korea :(

Originally from western Canada working for the Korean Government.

On yong haseo.

That's the only Korean that I remember after a 10 month stint in Chollanam-do province.

Welcome to Gunnutz!

That's Annyeong hase yo.

What happend in Chollanam-do ? Stint.. what did you get a scam artist or something.

Unfortunately Korea has lots of this kind of activity.

I think in the rural areas you can have airguns.

If you want to shoot guns in Korea - talk to platnumbob on here. He's a friend of mine who spent a year in Korea. It's super pricey, but I think you can shoot .22 at an indoor range.

You can shoot handguns, the range closest to my house has up to 44 mag, on an indoor range but it is expensive. Think in the neighboorhood of five bucks a crack, three something if you opt for the special deal of 30 shots for a hundred bucks.

wow! welcome to the site and sorry to hear about your luck, not being able to enjoy firearms ownership. That really makes me appreciate our pathetic gun laws here for once...

Where? I live in Eastern Seoul

I go to a range in Haeundae in Busan. It is fairly close to the Paradise Hotel on the beach. It is sort of a strange place, they have a huge coffee shop attached to the range. When your party is shooting they are the only people on the range. So if we go together we will shoot together but if we go with in different groups we won't be on the range at the same time. An adjoshi accompanies you when your shooting and when you have a loaded handgun it is secured by two chains so you can't wave it around. You have to wear a vest and the adjoshi wears a vest as well. And it aint cheap.

I think airsoft is like candy over there, if I am not mistaken.

My brother told me every kid walks around with an airsoft and they are black too!

right, but they LEGALLY are require to have an orange marker on them whereas the Japanese ones don't.

--- I live in Seoul so getting to Busan will be done by KTX ... like the Shinkansen in Japan.:sniper:

I haven't heard of Paradise Hotel in Busan in a long time...it's been about 12 years since I was there and my brother was a DJ there. Ahh, I loved those days at Haeundae and Gwangalee beach :)

It's kind of funny how they don't have a shooting range when all young men have to go the army when they turn 18 or 19 (can't remember which)...this would mean almost every man has shot a rifle or a handgun before their 21s or 22nd birthday...

What's the name of the Korean .45 again? I forgot...I'd like to see if I can get one.

About 12 years ago when I was 10 ish, I was over in Daechun on vacation with family. I remember buying an airsoft Uzi, slinging it on my shoulder and walking to the neighborhood elementary school and running around the schoolyard with the kids asking to get shot and even lining up! I'm sure if I tried that now I'd get shot myself with something a little more potent :p
