I look to buy a 12ga Dominion arms Grizzly. Maybe a 12,5'' barrel.

I would like to know if someone try it for clay shooting ??

any range report for clay shooting with this shotgun is welcome

Thanks

Iv tried the Hp-9 with 14 inch barrel for fun and was still hitting them.

No were near my first choice but i thought i would try, why not right. ;)

I've shot skeet with a 12.5 and even an 8.5" 870. I can hit fairly well with it but no doubt I would hit more with a proper gun.

It's not the best, or even second best tool for the job but for ####z adn giggles it can't be beat. Sort of like bringing a single action revolver to an IPSC shoot, it'll get the job done but you'll get some ribbing and ridicule for sure.
Cheers

The main problem for me is the lack of choke. I can hit hand thrown ones ok. But I have enough trouble hitting the mini with IC, let alone cyc.

P.E. Islander on here has hit 25's with his 12.5" Grizz on the skeet field...

the force is strong with this one :yingyang:

I'm a few behind him yet!

I think it's the dark side that's stronger.:yingyang:

Yes, swatting 25 in a row with that "snub nose" Grizzly is possible, and great fun...... however stunning everyone nearby with the concussion from the muzzle blast is almost as much fun:D

for clay you want 28 to 32

I'd say try a few different barrel lengths and see what you like, and what length suits your style of shooting.

There is really no significant difference in performance between a shorter barrel like an 18" and a long one like a 32", especially with target loads. The main difference is in how the gun swings and if this suits you or not depends on your style of shooting. Long, heavy guns are better for deliberate shooting while short is better for quick, snap shooting. Long, un-ported, barrels are quieter than short ones as a rule and longer guns tend to be heavier so they tend to have less felt recoil as well.

My choice turn into short barrel because I want a shotgun to hunt partridge in the forest.

Short shotgun are more handly in a dirt wood.

I also want to be able to have fun when I practice clay shooting.

They are certainly handy, I'll give you that. But I'm hesitant to take mine hunting due to the noise and the resulting hearing damage. These short shotguns are REALLY loud. I wish I knew someone with proper sound meter equipment, it would be educational find out the decibel reading from a 12.5" compared to a 28".

i shoot clays almost every sunday and i hit 24 on 25 whit a 18'5 cyl bore.
the clays brake in 4 or 5 parts, when i used to shoot whit a 30 inch barrel whit a modified choke they simply exploded into fine powder.
i am going to ask my friend to tap my barrel so i can use chokes on it!
