The other night I was organizing the room where I store my guns and hunting gear and I came to the shocking conclusion (and please forgive me for saying this) that I have everything I need:eek:. Without spending another penny on equipment, I can have a thoroughly enjoyable and complete hunting season this fall. I can't believe I'm thinking this way:confused: I'm still young! Is there something the matter with me?;)

We love our hunt-camp buddy "Gizzmo" ... just can't wait each year to see
the "next new thing" that's just come out that he has to have.

Swear his day pack weighs 75 pounds and he never gets further than a half mile from camp ! Cell phone, walkey-talkey, GPS, compass, extra batteries, knife or two or three, saw, hatchet, gloves, extra socks, deer bag, rope, deer drag, thermos, rattlin' horns, calls, deer sized block & tackle, choclate bars, toilet paper, extra ammo, rain suit & Lord knows what else. Always the latest in scent-blocker underwear & up to the minute camo patterns on every item of outdoor wear, despite the fact we have to wear blaze orange.

Oh yeah, he wears his pants with both belt & suspenders too, cause his pockets are always full !

Ninepointer I hear ya! I think I am set for life myself...

However, as much as my wife would love to hear I am done spending money on my sport, i will always bring home a few toys now and then.

But I agree I have sat down stairs at times looking at my hunting gear and saying, what the heck I am doing with all this stuff, rifles and calibers. and I will never use 1/4 of them for hunting!

Ah, must be nice, well at least cheaper, to live in Ontario. Heck, I end up buying a new pack, boots, high tech clothes, tent, sleeping pad, pack stove, cookware...you name it every couple years just to keep up with technology. Just when you think you have it covered, they build something better. That's not to mention all the nifty new mountain rifles and calibres!

That sounds like a member of our group.

I need new boots. Maybe I should just send these ones into Danner for reconditioning? $150 for there top package seems like a pretty good deal on a $300 boot. Anyone ever send their boots in to Danner?
