Arrrgghhh! I don't know how much longer I can take it. I have my PAL, and I sent in my restricted application in early May and had to call them on June 20th to get a move on (since the website wasn't reporting it as received).

They called my two references, and they called me.

I guess now it's just the 45-day waiting game. 31 down, 14 to go.

UPDATE:

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

It is 43 days from the start date to the end date, end date included... neat.

wow thats messed up and the 45 day is from the moment it's put in system and my brother is in a similar situation as his application has completed the initial processing stage (what ever that means) and they have talked to him and his references. I guess I was lucky when I got my PAL and RPAL in 38 days and 10 was the time it took to print and get it mailed and showing up in my mail box.

Good luck on getting your RPAL.

when you send an application in in the mail, the very first thing they do is cash your check. When some one at the other end enters the info into the computer... the initial proccessing has been completed. Then they call you, and then your referances. One of my referances was never around his phone to be contacted they sent him a letter, he had to call with a ref #. After he called My app was according to the cfc website with in a few hours said it was complete and mailed, all total about 24 days, but the mail seemed to put it at 29 days to me. The advertised wait time is a minimum of 28 days if you are already in the system, and 45 days for a brand new app.

I was one of the lucky ones

Call in and see if they have issues your license number. Normally after the 28 day waiting period or a few days after they issue the number in the computer system and then following days are printing and the mailing in batches.

You can still buy guys online, over the phone and in person at store with your license number, DOB, Birth City and license expirty date. I'd know, I bought a shotgun from LeBaron on day 29 after my PAL was recieved.

Maybe I'm just one lucky bas***d but I got my restricted in 32 days (in my hand) from the day it went in the system... and I live in gun-ban-land Ontario... go figure.

Took me 14 weeks from the time I took my test to the time I got my LTATT. Problem was I left for work in the states about 3 days before the ATT came in, so my wait time is more like 30 weeks before I can shoot my handgun. :( I try not to think about it.

Or you could just buy them on the street corner, by the hour. No personal info required...:)

Nobody else thought this was funny?!? LOL C'mon is this thing turned on or what? Buehler? Hello? Anyone?

Firearms license holders in Canada have to be the most patient people in the world, thanks to our messed up system. It the CFC was a woman it would be that one that dresses like a total bimbo, letting everything hang out, smiling and touching everyone around them, but turning down every pick up line ever offered.

Sweetness. I look forward to receiving it.

You think that's suspense.....that's a stroll in the park!

If you think that's suspense .........I'm a 12-xx Prohib owner and my RPAL arrived 4 days before the old one was to expire.

Even if it's THEIR MISTAKE & THEIR FAULT........if there's a lapse in your RPAL validity your GRANDFATHERED STATUS goes out the window & you have to dump your Prohibs.

Because of countless Liberal patronage appointments throughout all levels of government & all satellite agencies that's the level of bureaucratic arrogance in this country & if you appeal it & it lands in front of one of the many Liberal appointed anti-activist judges they'll laugh at you.

If United States browsers want a living example of the "tyrannical regimes" that the American Second Amendment was drafted to be a protection against just look north to Canada & especially the Provinces of Quebec & Ontario where the written letter of the law has been effectively supplanted by the Liberal Social Engineering Agenda.
