I have reconfigured my MK14 SEI Mod 1 to make it more user friendly and capable.

I removed the TangoDown Advanced combat bipod and I replaced the Magpul CTR with a CRANE LMT SOPMOD.
The Aimpoint Micro T-1, SureFire Scout light, DC Comp and GLFS-D-18 with NM front sight are new.

I think I've got it just about perfect for my needs :dancingbanana:

13 lbs. 4.4 oz. as pictured with 20 rounds in the magazine.

The receiver is a heel stamped Norinco.

<Insert stupid comment about legal magazine capacity.>

Very nice!

I prefer the look of the Sage retractable buttstock, but I have a feeling this setup is more comfortable.

NICE! you always got the nice toys!

Thanks! :)

Thank you :)

The buffer tube butt stock is very comfortable and it is lighter than the
original telescoping butt stock with adjustable cheek rest and butt pad.

I prefer the CQB Chassis Stock with the M4/M16 style receiver extension
tube for open iron sights. Irons are tough to acquire with the original stock.

I have this one set up for iron sights only.

There have been many different variations on the Chinese M-14 here in Canuckistan.

I have personally seen some heel stamped Chinese 14 rifles, and also some with NO markings at all, and even a few that were definitely chopped from Chinese 14s that were originally full auto [ they cut off the extra leg that held the nasty bits, reblued, but the giveaway is that the op rod takedown notch is in the MIDDLE of the receiver. Many of these will have op rods that were ground off at the front, and receivers that were ground to remove the scope mount surface.

When you add in all the Chinese 14 "kits" that were sold unassembled, you have truly a smorgasborg of variations.

but the giveaway is that the op rod takedown notch is in the MIDDLE of the receiver.

I didn't know that. Now I know why the one in my safe is that way.

Learn something every day on these boards. Sometimes its even useful. ;)

I'm thinking that it was older model ones that had this feature, no?

After seeing some of Different's photos of heel stamps, I became quite interested in them. To me, they are one of the beautiful finishing features of the rifle.

Sorry to steal your BW H20 Man, but a prime example is your photo here:

I had a very nice heel stamped norc, a century arms import that Different estimated the date of import to be sometime in 93. Was one of the finest bone stock examples of a chinese norc that i've seen.

Got a pic of the heel stamping?
I haven't seen one heel stamped before.

Is this a US import thing?

I just realized that you asked for a picture of the Norinco heel stamp ...

Here is the one I used for my Mod 0 build.

I have a third heel stamped Norinco set aside for a future project.
None of my Norinco heel stamps are as fine/clear as any of my heel stamped Polys.
