I post this question in the pistols & revolvers forum without much response! Ill try it again here.

Ive had a SIG p210-6 for about a year now and just took it to the range today for the first time

Man this thing has the smoothest trigger, and fits my hand perfect. Now for the bad part, I found the recoil to be excessive though I mean to the point that I almost lost my grip on the gun an dropped it due to the recoil. This was using factory american eagle 124 gr CMJs.

Anyone have any experience with this ?? Recoil spring weak maybe ?

Thanx,

Just thought Id add a pic of this Bad Boy...

IIRC the model 210 is more of a target gun. I believe it is set up more for target loads then full FMJ factory loads. So that might be why you are getting a pounding on recoil if it is set up with light load springs.

Been shooting Nato milspec ammo in 210s for a long time.

Could you take a picture of your return spring assembly, both sides?
Looks like this?

Maybe the barrel lug also.

Was the hammer bitting the web of your hand and causing your hand to bleed?

You bought it in July of 2007 and are just getting around to shooting it!!
Shame on you!
You should sell it back to me.
I shot mainly light lead reloads through it and it performed very well. I found that the grip had some squarish edges on it that weren't too comfortable for me.
I replaced it with a Smith 952-2 that was also excellent, but just didn't have the elegance of the 210-6 or the elderly 52-2 that I use now.

The 952-2 you sold me has had plenty of use I assure you of that. Most accurate handgun I've ever shot. Thanks again Stew. Sorry for getting off topic here.
