best place to buy ammo in toronto ?

Depends what you're looking for. Al Flaherty's carries shotgun and long gun ammo, I'm not sure that they sell handgun ammo. If that's what you want, probably Giovanni's.

If you can get to Markham, LeBaron (Woodbine just north of Yorktech) has everything.

I was going to suggest Lebaron as well. They don't exactly have the best customer service, but the prices are pretty good.

Believe it or not, there are a few Canadian Tire stores in Scarborough that sell ammo. The one at Markham and Lawrence in Cederbrae Mall even had handgun ammo the last time I was there. Prices however are elevated.

I say believe it or not because you normally can't even find BB's or pellets for airguns in CT stores in Toronto.

Personally I wouldn't buy ammo from CT because I get the impression they don't take very good care of the "book" that they record your info in when you buy ammo. Too many punks working there that could have access to it. My uncle told me one time he was in a CT store, the book was lying open on the counter. He looked through it for 5 minutes, and not one employee stopped him. He asked to speak to the manager, and ripped him a new one.

the Canadian Tire at Leslie & Lakeshore also sells ammo. And i al;so believe the one at Kingston & St Claire does too

I agree. If you can't figure that out yourself, why did you bother getting your license? or how did you even get it?

C'mon, you gotta sympathize...there's not a whole lot of choice here, variety-wise. Not to harsh on anyone (mainly b/c I shopped @ most), but Flaherty only had 2 types of .22 LR last time I checked, Giovanni doesn't sell bulk ammo (though he's got good variety), Bass Pro is too often out-of-stock (esp. on .22), and "the Baron" even more so.:(

Maybe in Brampton, things are better...

After all, just over in Woodbridge (truly not far from Toronto), even the CT's sell ammo. I've yet to find one such CT in my neck of TO...:p

Is it just me or does this sound like another troll question?

You're a Toronto person - no sympathy at all? I myself found out by mistake about the wonder that is North Sylva (.22 variety galore, among other ammo).:dancingbanana:

P.S. Mentioning North Sylva ain't a sell-out; they supply Toronto delaers like Flaherty...:D

North Silva is great for target grade rimfire ammo. Also, there are some Wal-marts just north of Toronto that sell ammo.
