Not sure what I am doing wrong here - I have a Grizzly 870 from CanAm, and I just purchased a Scattergun Technologies 1 shot extension (I have a 14" barrel on this Grizzly), but I'm not having much luck. I drilled the 2 little dimples out on the tube, reinstalled the barrel, put the follower and spring in, and then put the extenson on. I don't know if the threads are wrong, but I cannot tighten the extension down enough to hold the barrel tight - I have about 1/4" play between the barrel ring and the end of the extension once I have tightened it down all the way. I even put channel Locks on the extension to try and tighten it down more, but to no avail - do I need some type of washer or spacer? Anyone have this problem before?

I think pics may be helpful to see any issues with not enough threading or such.

Are you able to thread the extension on by hand just by turning on on the mag tube without the barrel on? How far down does it go? Mark it with crayon/chalk or whatever.

Are you able to reach that point with the barrel on? If not, I'm inclined to say that there is some binding on the sling plate rotating on the mag extension....common on new extensions from Scattergun Tech/Wilson Combat. Loosen her up by spraying some oil and rotating the sling plate around the extension several times.

If not, check and measure the length of the threading on the mag tube and the inside of the extension.

I had this problem with an hp9 one time...no need for an extension for my 12.5 grizz...unless you can get a washer of some sort you may be unable to use it.

Are you saying some of the HP9-1 and Grizzly guns didn't have the mag tube threaded enough?

That can be fixed.

Or the cheap route would be putting another sling plate on if that is sufficient.
