Thank you. Spoke to the former owner and he says it is much nicer in person and is nearly pristine. (Stock and rifle) Yes...a variation will be fun to try.

BTW...a # one is by far and away my most favorite Brno...and after 100+ RF's in the past 30 years, it is my all time RF sporter hands down! Get one while you can.

Looks like a non-thumbhole stock converted to thumbhole to me, as the thumbhole looks like it's too low. Guess you can only tell by holding it.

Here are my three Brnos; top one is 1950 mod 1 ;center one is a1950 ZKM 468 ; bottom one is a 1952 mod 1. Great rifles all of them.

Beech it is...used on several training rifles to this day (under the CZ 452/455 line).

Definately beech... usually as durable as walnut but the grain is more uniform/plain. Still used on CZ TRAining/youth rifles.
