Hi knowledgeable shooters,

I was in Galt club this afternoon with a 12.5" barrel SG with Ghost Ring sight.

I tried trap with it and found Ghost Ring works very well with traps. I managed 20/25. Since I normally hit 22~23 with my 28" semi, that's not bad at all.

However, the question is: is Ghost Ring sight allowed in formal trap/skeet events?

Thanks!

I know of no rule that prohibits such a device in skeet. I don't see how using such a device would result in any advantage though.

Brad.

Not prohibited in A.T.A. events, but I also do not see any advantage. With the exception of the late Floyd Natrass, who sometimes used a scope and later his Natrass Super Sight, I have never seen anyone shoot well or improve their score with such contraptions!

I don't think so either.

I was a big fan of WWII aviation. That ring remembers me the gunner sight used on the the heavy bombers. Just image the clays are attacking Bf-109s. :)

If you can hit 20 out of 25 with a 12 1/2" barrel at trap. You should go out right now and buy a Trap specific shotgun. We may have a prodigy amongst us. :)
