In my exp, I've always had some sort of issue with doublestacks in the 1911, didn't matter if it was a norc or colt. Never any problems with the singlestack. My hands seem to like the single as well.

I now have the chance to buy a para in double for a very good price on a limited production run. Just looking for opinons from those who have some long term usage on the double paras? any faults? Should I wait until the same deal is offered on the single?

what kind of issues with the double stack are you talking about?

Just the grip size?

I had a para in .40 with the double stack that I used in entry IPSC with no issues whatsoever in function. Fit was great for me as well.

It was a great gun to shoot, easy to maintain and held up very well.

As well, I didn't do any mods to the gun so my stock para was good to go.

I have owned 5 Paras and dozens ofSingle stack govt models.
I spent hours grinding doen a couple of Paras but still could not get them to feel as conmfortable and instictive as a single stack on quick from the holster work.

My current .45 is a BUL, and the BUL palstic frame feels much closer to a single stack, way more naturaal/instinctive for me than a Para.

I don't really see the point of getting a big wide double stack 1911 when due to mag restrictions you're only getting 2 more rounds than a single stack which feels a lot more comfortable in the hand.

Actually, if you used 8 rounders and topped it off..........:D
