First day out this Fall, what rifle will you be carrying?

.338winmag Tikka T3 with 68 grains RL22 under Barnes TSX 225 grain snotbusters. Whatever I see is goin down. Backup left in the truck will be a .300winmag Savage 116 stainless with 200 gr accubonds over 70 grains RL22. Dont think I'm gonna need my backup.

I haven't decided yet If my new Cooper .280AI is here it will be that, but I doubt I'll have it. So, if my montana 1999 in 6.5-284 is here in time it will be that, and if it's not here in time I'll crap myself. i'll probably use my Kimber 8400 .300wsm that I used last year, but thats boring. I may try out my Montana 1999 in .257AI if I have a good load worked up for it in time. In other words, it's too bloody early to tell!

First day out will probably be with my old bow. First day of rifle may see me carrying a 338 win mag in a ruger 77 MK II all weather in elk country or perhaps its lil sis, my 280 Rem in the same model of rifle, if i am after that mulie i drew for. Lets be honest, i have enough guns that the rifle i carry is dictated by the mood i am in when i wake up that day.

No doubt what the wife will carry, as i just brought it home today. A nice little Model Seven Stainless in 260 Rem that i topped with a Leupold Vari-X compact 3-9x33mm. Is it right that i am jealous of a setup i paid for?

opening morning down here will find me looking for an elk with a brno 8x57 (maybe) in hand. although like last year i might be using a milsurp.

Either my .250 sav99 or my .308 sav 99.I haven't decided yet.I got them both since hunting season ended last year,so neither has been hunted by me yet.I'm thinking i'll go with the .250 then switch to the .308 when moose opens.
