Savage F/TR

3 shots in the same hole with the F/TR at the range today (100 yards).

One gripe I have with this rifle is that you have to unscrew and remove the cheek piece every time you want to run a rod down the bore. They should have made a quick release. I'm not putting the cheek piece back on. There has to be a better one out there!

I had, one on my 10FP....Getting another, one for my new 10FP..

For the F/TR in 308...............

It has a 1 in 12 twist. My understanding is that it would be better for the lighter bullets?

Could it be a good 1,000 yard rifle?

There are a few guys shooting them at 1000 at Borden with 155 Scenars and they do well, not as good as the 6.5 if windy.

Congrats Bob, the scores are posted on the ORA web page. Don't think for a moment the 6.5's are doing better, they might just have more experienced drivers. Those 6 F(O) guys have about 130 or more years experience between them.

Thanks Tom.

John, Norm and company are a great bunch of folks to shoot with.

They are willing to share knowledge if you are willing to listen.

As someone recently said, " shoot for the 10"s, the X will take care of themselves". Thanks JK.
