Just curious where the guys showing off their new McMillans are getting them. I fondled a Rem 700 Ti Alaskan the other day, and then looked at the price tag and decided i would save a bit of cash and get my ruger a bit closer to that and be happy as is.

Thinking that the Edge model would be best for my needs, waht can you tell me about suppliers and what price can i expect to pay?

Thanks

The stock on the Remington Ti is actually made by Bell & Carlson, they are pretty good but not quite the caliber of the McMillan. McMillan doesn't do the Edge technologie for Ruger rifles due to their angle bolt. They do have a couple of "regular" models for the Rugers. I'm thinking ordering one for my custom Ruger .35 Whelen next winter. They run about $400 -450 if I remember right, I got one on my Winchester 70 in 7mm Rem Mag and I like it.

Yeah, that new B&C on the Remmy is not quite what i am after, i am the kind of guy who will do the project completely if i bother at all. Will have to check out the Mcmillan website and rethink my choice in models though, thanks.

I have 2 McMillans and there fine, but Ian Robertson stocks made in Ottawa are better, nicer finnish, and lots of colour choices light and strong,

This is where I got mine as well. One draw back, if you want to call it that, is the wait time. McMillan as about a 6 month wait list when you place your order. One might get lucky and they might have what you're looking for on their "Special" list which is basically orders that customers didn't pick up or cancelled for whatever reason.

What are u supposed to specify for action inlet, bottom metal, and barrel channel options?? Stupid question I know.

Action inlet would be the make of your rifle and short or long action.
Bottom metal would be if it's the factory bottom metal or the brand of the after market you changed for.
Barrel channel would be the profile of your barrel: mountain, sporter, magnum, varmint or the profile and make of your custom barrel.

There is aslo and option for stock filll (light, regular, heavy, sniper). This is if you want a heavyer than normal stock for heavy kickers or a bench gun.

Im getting one for my Winchester and spoke with McMillan directly. They have a great selection of ones ready to go and if you want a custom paint, and stock style they dont have in stock they'll make it for you and only charge you when its dropped in the mail.
