Auto-Ord GI 1911A1 Pistols

Screw the series 80 (I hate it - extra parts, spongy trigger pull - not worth the benefit).

As a WW2 replica, it's toast.

As a shooter, you can do better for the money - like an STI Spartan, IMHO.

My buddy recently bought a Spartan and I took it apart, inspected it, and shot it - very impressive for the money. He paid $715 for it.

Brownells sells an insert that replaces the firing pin safety for ~$5 if someone wants to remove it.

My Series 80 does not have a spongy trigger pull, it breaks very cleanly, I have not removed the firing pin safety.
