Are Beretta Handguns Not Popular?

IMO it is...92 has nicer fit and finish. Not that those other guns are cheap, but there are noticable built quality differences.

phatns2pid...have you ever field striped a 92? It's ridiculously easy! Glock is complicated in comparison ;) I've never completelly detailed striped it since there was no need, but I did take the extractor out, replaced the hammer and trigger as well as the mainspring...all pretty easy actually!

Myself? Nay. I've seen them field stripped, though, and the 92 has 20% more parts, I think (e.g. one more part :D ).

I agree... I always wanted one... and now have one... and it's a keeper too...

I think the following is there... but when competing with simpler cheaper fire-arms (aka glock) its hard to pay more for the name/brand

Luke

I liked my SS 92... problem is, I don't have frankensteinian hands to go along with it. ;)

Trigger was a bit long, grips were thick, but everything else was nice.

As a kid I learned to do chin ups on a big fat pipe so 'normal' thin once always felt weird to me afterwards...Same with 92, I learned to shoot it with, so to me that's what the gun should feel like, now I have other guns with smaller grips but 92 still feels right in my medium size hands; nice and big and easy to hold on to...:)

92's grip might be fatter than on some other guns but I can still comfortably connect my thumb with my index finger with out pulling the trigger (in SA of course). I can't do it with a 1911 or P220 while both have thinner grips...fwiw

Beretta

Beretta makes a good pistol.

Owned 92 series 9mm Berettas when they, the BHP and the S&W 59 were pretty much the only double stacker 9mm's available in Canada. Yeah back in the day when we could legally own pistols with hi-cap mags. Learned to shoot that big table leg 92 well enough to have owned a few examples in those early days.

These days my favourite double stack 9mm is the BHP MkIII. Just fits me better.

But I'm not totally done with Berettas.... have a cool little Model 71 in .22 lr that is a keeper.

Personally though, I'd sooner own a single stack 1911 in .45ACP than any Beretta double stack 9mm..... ;)

it's amazing how much that looks like my 948- and mine was made away back in 51, which was a 22 version of the old 9mm short 1934

I have a Model 89 Target .22 and I really like it a lot. Smooth action and crisp trigger. If it stopped working, I'd search for another for sure.
