New Sig Sauer pistol - should be Canada-legal

This is what we are talking about:

http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/430601935/m/2331077921

The guy from topgunsupply says that a threaded model is coming out - and he should know, as he is one of the big SIG dealers online in the States. Based on other threaded SIG models, the new 239 should easily meet the "over 105mm" requirement. We won't need Questar to get these. The Canadian SIG distributor will be able to bring them in and supply them to any dealer in the country.

I was told by a local gunshop that they have them on order (presumably from the Canadian distributor).

Any word on if different 250 uppers/lowers will be brought in later? Would be nice to actually take advantage of the modular system and swap in different grip lengths & colors.

They are all 9mm for now, and they are all DAO 5.5 - 6.5 lbs

They are also all "compact" right now, which is why only the threaded version is coming to Canada for the moment. We could possibly see some other variations in the future, but who knows.

Full Size 9mm are expected in the fall but no exact info or dates available yet... my guess is late September or more likely October before they start to ship those. Once they do we'll have them available.

When SIG announced the P250 they said it would take most of 2008 to roll out the product line... they expected it to take until the following SHOT Show for most items to finally get released. Well... they have a few more months to go and so far they're not far off that original scheduling.

Mark, any word on the 239s ?

Okay... we did some checking and there is in fact a 239 "Tactical" with a threaded barrel that is legal for Canadian import. The gun is to be released in September 2008 and we have placed an order for some.

We only have a limited number of these coming... they are 9mm and come with 2 x 8 round magazines. That's all the info we have on them until they get here.

If you want one of these then put your order in now... $989.52 CASH Price (cards add 3%). The currency drop has been nuts this past 2 weeks... if it doesn't recover a bit then it will affect the price on these guns.

I just got of the phone with SIG customer service asking about an X-5 issue Im having and also asked about the 239s,they said 4.6" threaded barrel, srt, night sights.

P 250 "Tactical-All Terrain Digital". Sig's website says that the barrel is 3.9", but that's actually the length of the regular barrel. The extended threaded barrel looks long enough to get past the magic 4.15" number.

The threaded barrel is 4.80" long.
