the 338 ultra won't destroy any more meat than the 7mag and probably less, but of the 3 7mags I take the ultra if you reload and the 7mm rem if you don't.
the 7mm ultra will get really expensive with factory loads for target shooting.

Since the choices were both 7mm's I chose the 7mm Rem Mag.

Actually, would prefer to have the big boomer in .30 cal.... aka .300 Win Mag....

7mm Rem Mag. Been around since the 60's, EVERYBODY and their grandmother loads for it, so lots of different factory choices for plinking vs hunting rounds.

no way - you need 7mm Ultra Mag - it will kill better, further, with less felt recoil and it will have longer barrel life for better 600 yard accuracy

Excellent point. Why didn't I think about the 600 yard accuracy angle? I'm just not up to being a gun-rag writer I guess. I'm a failure at life...:runaway:

well i have the 7mm rem mag right now , in a 111 savage , but i am looking at the tc ENCORE ENDEAVOR IN .50 muzzleloader , then i am going to have to get the 7mm rem mag... seeing they DONT make the 7mmrum BARRELS...

i would like to know what the big deal is with the 3? right now i have a 7mm rem mag , and i am looking at geting a new gun (for deer)" , and real long rage targets (rc car's.trucks) :sniper:

what is the bullet drop at 100-600 yards?
what is the fps ?
what can you get more sizes in?
i dont care on cost and i dont plan on reloading so the belted mag thing i dont care on
what is the big deal in recoil from the 2?

if some one has a pic of them side by side plz post it

so plz let me know witch one is the best (remeber i dont care on the price diff)

How old are you and who tolded you that your 7Mag wouldn't do the job?

Spend your money on a good scope and ammo and learn how to shoot it.

i know how to shoot it lol , and the gun i have right now is a pos savage 111 witch was $350.00 and i have shot well over 2000 rds , but i want someting a bit beter ,bull barrel,no mag,and most ppl dont need more then 1 rd , so i want the tc hunter then all i need is a 7mm barrel for it , seeing i would buy it with the 209x.50 on it ,and the scopes i am looking at are over 800.00 each and i have 3000.00 to spend this year on a new gun.

and my dad is still useing his old .303 witch i would like to be able to give him my 7mm when i get a new one

sure the gun is good enf for most ppl , but when u have $$$ y not spend it on some thing you want to last?(i want the gun to last more then 10 years so i can give it to my kids)

yes i am going to get the 7mm rem mag , not worth my time to reload seeing they dont cost much to buy(but i did save 1500-1800 rd that some one can reload ,pm me with an offer if want them , other wize they make nice targets for my 22 mag at 50-100yards

No disrespect intended regarding your age, but I agree with SuperCub... spend your money on a good scope, ammo and practice.

i hear jim shockey hunts with a 7mm rem mag, other wize he gets upset. witch of course makez a lot of sense, when u think about it. And if itz good enf for him, y switch?

Spelling and grammar, kiddies.

i dont like bolt guns for deer hunting , and i plan on geting a $800.00 scope (zeiss conquest 6.5-20 X 50mm) and for ammo i still have maybe 200 rd of 7mm rem mag , and i am over 20 years old,i had the savage 111 for first 3 years now i want something new ,

and i also need a muzzleloader , so if i buy the tc ENdeavor in 209x50 , it is $350.00 more for the 7mm rem mag barrel

Since you seem to have all this discretionary money welling up around your ears just buy a 7-08 barrel and have a gunsmith run a 7mm RUM reamer into it. Not only will you have a 1200 metre moose-sniper rifle it will be an ULTRA COOL ONE OF A KIND firearm you can take to the range where all the resident old coots will instantly KNOW that you are a superior shooter. .

Well I'll give you fifty bucks for that old POS clunker of a rifle, and that's being generous. Yup, it's only worth half that, but I like you. Hell, I'll even cover the shipping on that old junker. I need somthing to hold a plant upright and that should do it. Want my mailing info?

y do ppl think that some "young" ppl cant shoot?
most young ppl have better eyes and can hold a gun a lot stiller then old ppl
and y say "ammo and more practice"... i shot well over 30,000 shots in my lift and i dont need more practice , and over 2000 from this gun.

if you have ever had a newer savage 111 they grop like ass... and the trigers suck!

right now after 2000 shots i get maybe maybe 2.00-3.00" moa at 100 yards befor the gun was geting 0.75-1.5...

and it has bin looked at buy a gun smith..

same idea y buy cheep golf clubs? maybe when your starting out .. most ppl upgrade real fast.

for me i buy 1-2 new guns a month right now i have 19 and i have a 24 gun safe to fill (+ 2 pistols)
