check it out. it turned out very well, i think.

the flash makes the paint brighter than it actually is. it's actually pretty dark.

it took me 5 attempts to get it right, but once i figured out the process it was really easy. i even rigged a clamp in a vise to hold the stock while i painted it and it dried so i didn't have to touch it. i used the Krylon Camo paints.

- base coat of black
- let mostly dry, about 10 minutes
- hold piece of foliage, in this case cedar frond or fern leaves, over section you want.
- with a quick sweeping motion, spray over top of the foliage.
- carefully lift foliage away, and you should have a nice outline of it, with a border of olive.
- repeat in random pattern.

it's was reall quite simple. if i made a mistake, just paint black over it, and redo it. a couple times, i accidentally touched it and smudged the wet paint. i let it dry, sanded it down and re-painted.

now i want to do my truck in the same pattern. :D

I'll have to post a pic of my daughters "Tacti-Cooey". ;)

Nice job.. always good seeing these guys given new life. I have 6 Cooeys and love them all.

thanks guys. :D

looks really good man! ill let you practice on my truck if ya want

sweet! bring it on over to BC and i'll fly at 'er.

the rifle didn't come with a trigger guard. i guess at some point in time it was removed, and not replaced. the other model 39 i bought at the same time has the trigger guard.

there's a few spots i'm not real happy with, so i think i'm going to sand it down and redo it. lol. even if it really doesn't need it, it's just plain fun to do. :D

very nice job-I have an old cooey I was wondering how to finish-does the Krylon paint adhere well to the metal work and barrel ?

Have to admit, that looks pretty good. Clever how you got the pattern as well. Good job.

Normally not my thing but for an old Coey and a fun project, good idea.

I used the Krylon camo paint also on my Cooey bush gun and it's held up really well.

It looks like the right one, I sold my Cooey in '95 so I can't compare first hand.
